There arent any actual car parts on this one..... The faux reso-bridge is a BBQ grill smokehole cover/cinnamon roll icing cap/Monster energy drink cap with a dowel.....its supposed to resemble the Chevrolet Rally Rim on My 77 Vette. This build was inspired by the Corvette...the C3 (it being a 3 string and that being the model I own) but the pickguard is a nod to the C1 55-62 "teardrop". The neck is red oak handshaped and mated to a solid hunk of wood inside that black velvet box. It has a piezo with volume. I dig auto inspired builds and in between another couple of projects I had goin....Im working under My carport and staring at My ol Stingray all the time the idea hit and the materials for the build which have been laying around forever just all came together.

I won't be participating in the challenge (as usual) but I'm certainly going to be watching & voting. Hell, my steampunk build is still less than 25% complete. I'm really looking forward to seeing the entries though. Gas tanks, license plates, & hub caps were "internet-ready" in this scene before i discovered them a couple years ago... you can bet my vote will go to someone who presents something new (or at least new to me.) Please don't let this discourage anyone from building these things... i mean, please... a fair amount of my experience thus far has been building things taken from ideas already present on the net. I totally dig it... i love it, but an "outside the box" idea always wins me over.. :)

Past builds are OK but lets see if you can come up with something new too.

Are you taking past builds or is this strictly 'build in the time allowed' Ted??

I have a ton of parts here. In face I just helped my ole lady's father add a new cam and heads to his ElCamino. Not to mention the 72 Boat back Rivy I got in the garage! This should be fun!!!!!!!!!
