G'day from Australia! My name is Ian Cunningham and I've been making cigar box guitars, basses and ukeleles for several years.I've been fortunate enough to be able to have a permanent display in a local art gallery, where I've sold a few. Mostly, I sell by word of mouth and often make to order. It's a great hobby! I also play bass in a local retro rock'n'roll band...can't keep a good man down!

Hi my name is Ben,

I first got into building CBGs out of curiosity and 6 months later I was invited by a friend of mine to help out with my own brand of production for the Harley Davidson 110th anniversary event with a part in a booth in "Artisan Alley" at the Harley Museum. We built 12 guitars in 3 months and sold 7 (of ours) in 2 days. I'm not bragging, I just think it was a really cool opportunity that made for some even cooler stories :) Thanks for your time, and I hope to enjoy my time here with all of you and learn as much as I can from the collective genius here :)

Hello, my name is Joe

I'm trying to post this message again, as yesterday I was having issues with word wrap as well as making the mistake of sending my initial post to all members. (Sorry)

I play 6-string acoustic and electric, albeit poorly, primarily due to my lack of discipline and practice habits.  I've recently developed an interest in CBG's since I like to make things.

I'm an electronics technician by trade, and enjoy old vacuum tube gear as a hobby.  I've posted a couple photos of bread tin tube amps I have built.

I'm looking forward to learning from the wealth of experience that is present in on this website.

Joe

Yo,

I am retired and fulltime RVer in the good old USA.  Live on the road and am able to spend time on my interest of building and playing musical instruments.  I did build a nice mountain dulcimer last winter while in Texas.  Next on the agenda are some cigar box guitars.   I also play blues harp.   Found this group while doing research on building the Dulcimer and look forward to exploring the site.  Thanks to Ted for setting it up.

Bob
