Cigar Box Guitar Headquarters - CBG HQ

4-string paint-lid resonator

Built from an old cedar planter. Strings 2-5 tuned GDGB. Paint lid hammered for a resonator. Bone saddle, hinge tailpiece, bolt for a nut.

I'm going to drill out the small sound hole pattern into larger holes as I'm not pleased with the volume. I'm pleased with the general, old-timey sound.

Thanks, Jim. I may just add a pickup.

Very nice piece.

(Regarding your volume concern: if it were mine, I think I'd just electrify it. Its top looks great, but those rustic-looking boards are just too thick to vibrate and produce much sound, acoustically, IMO.)
