This is what I'm doing now on all my pups for reducing hum. It takes a bit longer to do but worth the effort. Harrisonguitarpickups.com

Tubelo Honey

This will be my next cigar box guitar pickup. It’s still in the concept stage. The Tupelo Honey pickup will be made in the Americana rustic theme like my Art Deco series.. Please follow me on Facebook under Bob G. Harrison or my website:…

Profile Information

Welcome to the Clubhouse! How did you hear about us?
I heard your name on The Nation and looked you up.
What instruments are you building or playing?
I am not a musician yet. I am building a pickup winder out of an old Singer sewing machine that will have the look of a Rube Goldberg / steam punk . I will learn the delta blues on a cigar box guitar that I build. The whole process will be a journey through my imagination.

Thanks Bob. Most of the sides and backs I've built recently are out of .050 aluminum so it's real easy to form by hand. The tops of these are 1/8" birch ply. Amazing what will resonate.

Your pick ups are great, I guess I'll have to learn how to make them one day.

Cheers

Hey Bob, no I didn`t know that....thats cool. I did happen to see a vid over on the nation [ even though I`m not a member anymore ] on bridges and tailpieces...I saw 3 of my bone piezo bridges in the vid.....thought that was cool. Guess the member that did the vid likes my work. Hey your pup`s are very unique and like my own creations one of a kind....conqrats on a very awesome design....you can call that one your own!!!

Thanks Bob for the comment on my new build. Maybe it wasn`t a star thief like ted was thinkin, mabe it`s a glinch in the system. Yeah got a feeling this new build is going to be a fun playing one and it will look cool too. It`s turning out to be a fun build for sure want to make more of them in the future. Makin your bodys is the way to go, I like doing the cutaways. Adds a little detail to it.
