Greetings, Don Craig here, Saranac, NY

Hi everybody, my name is Don Craig, just joined up yesterday.  I live in Saranac NY, in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, near Lake Champlain and the Canadian Border, just west of Plattsburgh.I built my first 3-string box guitar last July, 2017, out of curiousity.  I have owned and tortured four six-string guitars over the last 50 years, with litlle hope of ever learning how to play.  The 3-string seemed possible and it is.  The neck warped and developed a high action and I've learned…See More

"This one has a full 1 x 1.5 inch butternut neck.  I reinforced it with a 1/2 x 1/8 steel bar buried and glued in a slot beneath the fretboard..  The soundboard is 1/8 bass wood reinforced with bamboo braces."

Welcome to the Clubhouse! How did you hear about us?
Through a member at Cigar Box Nation.
What instruments are you building or playing?
3-string box guitars, 2-string strum stick, 1-string didley bow, harmonica, bodrhan drum, assorted cheap guitars. My first instrument was an Appalachian mountain lap dulcimer. Built a drum out of a nail keg. And a Native-American style flute out of red sumac.
