"Yesterday, I picked up a thick slab of African mahogany that will be cut down for my sides and neck, and I got purple heart for the fretboard. The top and back will be Spanish cedar. Things are starting to come together and look quite real. This is…"
"Hey all. Long time no smell. It's been a crazy busy and full year. I've missed working at my half-assed lutherie, and when I saw a community education class on guitar building offered through the school I'm currently studying…"
"Matthew, just catching up. It's been a seriously busy month. I speak just enough to make me stupid in front of someone who really knows the language. I want to get the Rosetta Stone program for it when I can scrape together the cash.
"Hey there. I just wanted to welcome you into the CBG section of the House. We're here for you if you have questions, need advice or royally screw up a build (we all do that). Have fun, leave a message, and interact. Glad to have you around."
"Oh, I think the tin is a grand idea, but the leather is just a major complicating factor. If you hit the point that you're making solid body electrics, it probably wouldn't be an issue, but, until then...

What instruments are you building or playing?
I'm currently playing my first CBG, which I built Uncle Crow style. I would like to build more CBGs, especially a mandolin and a ukulele. Eventually, I may expand into non-CB based guitars. I'd like to build an Irish penny whistle, a dulcimer, a hurdy-gurdy and a set of uilleann pipes. All things in good time.

Hey there. I'll be in a red weathered Robertson Red kilt http://www.lindaclifford.com/Robertson.html, and probably be in the noon clan parade. I'll have on a black glengarry cap (red toorie and no dicing) and a khaki shirt. I have a grey moustach, goatee and longish grey hair; I'm starting to look like Buffalo Bill. I may be carrying my bodhran, but I'll bring the flutes and a small book you might want to order on flute building. Here's a photo of the flutes: http://handmademusic.ning.com/photo/2-flutes-and-a-whistle?context=user
Take a look at the other photos I've put up.
