P-Bass pickups in a CGB

HowdyI got a pair of cheap P-bass pickups and was wondering if i could use them on a guitar build. Is there any significant difference between bass and reg. guitar pickups (besides the number of poles)? Another question - the wiring diagram from Semour Duncan lists 250K Pots, but of course I've only got 500K lying around. What would be the difference if I switched out the 250K pots for the 500K pots? Thanks in advance! I'm just starting to learn how to wire pickups so no advice is too…See More

Resonator Dulcimer

Sorry for the fuzzy images! This was my first resonator cone stick dulcimer. The neck is poplar with a paduck fretboard. The pickup is a piezo rod underneath the bridge and the Vol / Tone pots are mounted on the side. The first string is doubled and I tend to stay with an D-A-D tuning.See More

"Hey Lex! Gitty's cones have 10 holes around the edge, screw it down, no need for glue. A rod will work well, have the wire exit the biscuit bridge dead center I use 2 disks in the biscuit wired in parallel.   Wired like this, and set in…"

First Resonator - need advice please!

Howdy AllI'm getting ready for my next build, a CB Dulcimer with a resonator cone. First time with a resonator and I'm using Gitty's 5.5 cone with a cover. Here's some things I'm wondering about:1. Should I glue and bolt the cone to the box?2. Will a rod piezo work in the saddle (with a hole drilled for the lead to the pot and jack)3. If I use a disk piezo should I glue it under the cone where the bridge sits? Thanks in Advance!SamSee More
