"The truth is hand tools are safer. the added plus is they are slower and help prevent mistakes. If you are using a cigar box and not building the box from scratch you really do not need power tools. Work slow think it out, you have a hard time…"

"Try this, use quarter sawen oak for neck, cut two slots in top, epoxy two rods steel or carbon, glue fret board on with epoxy and seal. That will probably work. Using two truss rods will help prevent twisting. Epoxy handles temp. extremes well…"

"Here is a picture of my 1935 GE radio cabinet with 5watt rechargeable amp with 8inch speaker. Runs for 20+ hours on a charge. 5 gain modes. works on guitars, mics, mp3s, cd players, etc. Hope this counts."

"yep need a cap. 3/4 turn 10k is way high. look at some diagrams for guitars. piezo pick ups don't work so good with tone controls at least for me. mag pickups respond very well. check out some of the diagrams online for starting points. you can…"

The focus here is on all types of handmade instruments and music. There are lots of helpful builders and players here and lots of Groups to teach and learn. We welcome participation so don't be shy.
