Amp Parts?

Does anyone know where I can get an amp wiring harness, speaker, everything I need, already soldered? I've seen the kit somewhere but now I can't find it.

Cat Ranch Communique 5/28

I suppose I have to start somewhere.  I've been meaning to write a blog for some time, and since  moving to the cat ranch in east Texas late last year, guitars have taken over my life. It's a sickness, really.  Big life changes the past few years have sent me careening off into a different world. But that's a story for another time, and I just want to touch on the big picture.  I moved into my parent's retirement home after Dad passed away, and having the kind of time and setting involved…

Cigar Box Fiddle, Progress Report #3 - the Box

I cut the box down to be just over 1.5" deep.  I was able to get the bottom off finally, but only be destroying the scraps of sides that were still attached.  Those nails were really rusted in and were not coming out.

I reinforced the corners before I did much more work so the box had more strength.  I've decided to screw 'n' glue the box closed - it works for a guitar so why not a fiddle?  The sides are so thin, I am not convinced a glue bond will be secure over time.  So…

Cigar Box Fiddle, Progress Report #2 - cutting the neck

The neck has been cut and final sanded at this point, and I've glued on the fingerboard.  I used a mortise drill to cut out the peghead, and then chisels to smooth out the pegbox a bit - but it is still pretty rough inside.  Here is a sequence of shots of cutting and shaping the neck

Review of Zombie - Nation

We are very pleased to debut at 14th on the Roots Music Report, and with some great company and friends who also are on that list, Ben Prestage, Damon Fowler, John Alex Mason and Albert Castiglia, awesome work everyone.

Rate 5 Stars

Both McKnight & Bogdal has paid their dues in the blues scene. Each of them has enough credentials to make a booklet out of them and still the twosome thought it would be cool to add another one to it : “Zombie Nati…

My new Banjo

I just completed this banjo. (Pics on my page)  I'm learning to play the fretless. It's like what I allready play but I have to be careful where the fingers go because it can be sharp or flat very easily. I like it very much so far.

long winded commentaries....LOL

in a lil "postscript" to my latest song.....I've had rounds of mystery bronchitis since my boys were little....not just a little cough, but month-two; long lasting and debilitating..this year I figured out!!! it is tree pollens..... whole FAMILY had it in dec/feb/march(trees), it is back for me, in may(grass?)....WHY, some years have passed by without it landing on me at all, peaked my curiosity (i did not keep a diary, and i should have used a scientific approach..!) this year we had a…

Cigar Box Ukulele

Trying to build my first cigar box ukulele.  So far I've already been having a problem doing a scarf joint so I could have an angled head.  Don't have any power tools, so I need to come up with a better way to cut straight lines.  Here's what it looks like glued up:

Gonna need a lot of filling…
