tin instruments

Ive seen cookie tin Banjo/ Guitars and canjos being made but i was wondering about other types of tins? I got a whole bunch of real neat cylinder shaped tins, and a few square and just funny shaped tins. Anybody know which tin sounds best? Has anybody seen a large cylinder tin used?

A few of Farmer Ted's Builds

The first two photos here are of my newest addition to the CBG world...portable Cigar Box Amplifiers. These are powered by a 9 volt battery and work great with CBG's or standard electrified guitars except for basses. Future builds will include AC adapters to reserve battery power and/or extend playing time.



All but one of my CBG builds are four-string and set up as baritone ukulele (A-D-F#-B).

Bottle Neck Slide Cutter Test

In a chat about cutting bottle neck slides, I remembered I had this old gadget, a yard sale find, which may or may not be an antique glass cutter for cutting gauge tubes for steam things. So I had to find it... and then I had to try it out.

I rinsed out a hot sauce bottle for the test. Yes, it will scratch a line on the INSIDE of a bottle neck.…
