This is a lovely piece of wood Ted. I am excited to get involved with this project.... work has been busy and touring shedule as well. I hope things will lighten up this next week.

Rough shaped the top and quick dyed it black to give a better idea. Still needs to be final shaped & sanded. The figured makore doesn't photograph well, it looks deep and shimmers in person.

Awesome! I can imagine how the grain will come out with the dark stain!!!

Screwed the bottom to the top and used a following bit on the router to match the shape. Did a little sanding on the top - black dust all over the place...

Time to start thinking of a voodoo style sound hole, any ideas Jack?

One idea for a soundhole, but if y'all know me I won't know how the guitar will turn out until it's done.

Thoughts?
