Cigar Box Guitar Headquarters - CBG HQ

A scene from the Hobbit?

Or the front yard of the new Club Ted & Crocker Guitars shop in Stuart, Florida?

Home Sweet Home!

Shop needs work...

Bedroom

Kitchen looking into living room 2 (Club Ted Tavern) AND living room 1 (Showroom/Jam Room).  I love that there aren't solid walls and can see daylight all the way through!  They call this a 'Florida Cracker House' - it was built in 1929 and renovated recently.

Living room 2/Club Ted Tavern

Living Room 2 - Club Ted Tavern

Living room 1 - Showroom/Jam room

My one man band rig and 3 tube amps will be in this corner, and about 30 instruments I made will be hanging on the walls all over Club Ted...

Office/Traffic & Shipping

Electronics/solder/pickup station/Photo studio

The shop DOES need A LOT OF WORK

Paradise doesn't come easy...

All y'all know I'm a detail freak.  I spent some time in a CAD program and these are the layouts I came up with so far:

It'll probably change, but these will help when I pull up in the big moving truck.

Wanna help???

Scroll down to see my CAD of the 10 x 20 tent thingy where all the sawdust and smelly stuff happens...

I already signed the papers, got the keys and handed over a fist-full of cash!  Plans are to head down in a big truck the first week in June.  Hopefully the last time I have to pack up and move the shop...

We will be back in Florida in May some time. 8 months in Utah is enough for me too damn cold and SNOW. Got a new heart, going to live 6 miles south of Daytona Beach in Port Orange 1/4 mile from the beach. So glad you are moving from Tallahassee. GIve me a call when you pass through. 386-848-4511 FREE Lunch or Dinner on me!!!

Paul, a quick journey straight down the coast, we're practically neighbors haaaaa.  Come on down to make something we can jam with.  Beware, I might put you to work.  I have a futon with your name on it so we can make it a weekend...

(I'm real close to the beach and bikinis!!!!)

(remember who popularized the slogan 'Come on down'?)

I'm obsessed with setting up a proper shop.  I have a GC handling all new electric and new wood floor and the major stuff in the shop.  I'll do a ton of other mods including painting and the minor stuff myself.

The  house doesn't need much.  There's extra room!

I'm kinda used to having my messy sawdust and smelly stuff outside the proper shop.  Well, i bought a 10 X 20 tent thingy and gear to make it hurricane proof.  And of course I set it up in CAD.

Clockwise fron Noon - canjo cans, planer, router table, chop saw, table saw, stain & paint cabinets. Two outside tables for stuff that deserves to be on outside tables.

And a brainstorm table outside!

Plus room to grow...

In this, secured for Florida storms.

Congrats Ted!
It looks like this place has lots of potential and also looks like you know how to make it all happen!
I live across the State in Bradenton from your new place and travel the State a lot with my work. I'll have to look you up when you get all settled in and operational and I am in he area.

Best Regards,
Chuck

Ted, looks very promising.. wish you were closer, but I'd be unreliable as I'm waiting for the birth of my son's first child, who is due that same time.... best of luck and prayers for prosperity, Sam
